Carl Eugene Wilbanks

Funeral services for Carl Eugene Wilbanks will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Sandcreek Cemetery outside of Okemah. Carl Eugene Wilbanks was born December 12, 1934 in Davenport, Oklahoma to Fred Wilbanks and Ellen Wilbanks Mendenhall. He passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Carl was a 1952 graduate of Chandler High School. On January 25, 1957 in Depew, Oklahoma he and Leona Faye Smith were married. Carl retired from General Motors and was also a small engine mechanic. He enjoyed working on and tinkering with engine repair. He loved to go fishing and traveling and proudly served his country with the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Fred; step-brothers, Ralph and Billy Mendenhall and step sister, Dorothy Braden. Survivors include his wife, Leona Wilbanks of the home; his son, Terry Wilbanks of Midwest City; daughter, Tammy Stewart and husband Richard of Choctaw; step-sister, Wanda Cofey of Oklahoma City; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
