Gregory Lee Stockstell

May 26, 1961 - December 2, 2019

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah, Oklahoma. Gregory Lee Stockstell, 58 of Oklahoma City, passed from this life on December 2, 2019 in his home. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Stockstell, father, Dell Buster Stockstell and one brother, Kenneth Stockstell. He is survived by one brother and wife, Dennis and Shanda Stockstell of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; one sister and husband, Jennifer and Felix Scott of Oklahoma City; step father, Richard McCarroll; aunts and uncles, Christine (Aunt Toots) and Robert Mosley of Denver, Colorado, LaNora and James Wortham of Okemah; Eddie Johnson of Shawnee, Frankie Johnson of Shawnee, Elsie Johnson of Tulsa, Johnnie and Liz Johnson of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and other family members. Gregory Stockstell or known to the family as Rock Island grew up in the Castle and Okemah area. He attended Castle Elementary and then went onto Okemah High School. Greg loved life and laughter. If you had the pleasure of being around him that’s the one thing you could count on. There would be lots of laughs and he loved to see others laugh. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature walks and was a very talented artist who was very meticulous, always kept things extremely neat. Greg was a lover of music and an avid Michael Jackson fan; but one of the things Greg loved most was Grandma Lodies biscuits and her famous butter rolls. He loved to call you and before he said hello; he would ask “do you have the biscuits and gravy on the stove” and of course he would then let out a hearty laugh. Rest in Peace, you’ll be missed. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Christine Mosley. Online condolences may be made at www.ParksBrothersFuneralHome.com.
