Martha Frances Smith

August 23, 1948 - May 10, 2022

Funeral services for Martha Frances Smith will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. Martha Frances Smith was born August 23, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Rev. Johnny James Spears and Pauline Frances (Jackson) Spears. She passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 73. Frances was a loving housewife who had also worked as a secretary and also with the Okemah News Leader. She was an accomplished pianist and also enjoyed playing the organ and accordion. She gave her life and music abilities to the Lord. In her earlier years, in California, she played for her dad in churches they pastored. They moved to Del City, Oklahoma where she attended Southwestern Christian High School and graduated with honors. She met Everett Smith at Northwest Pentecostal Holiness Church where they were married December 23, 1967 during one of the biggest blizzards Oklahoma City had seen in many years. She assisted Bro. Green in writing music and songs in the hymnal he published. She and sister June Hamilton would team up on the duel pianos at Northwest Pentecostal Holiness and they would make them sing. She could sing as well as play and she and her mother would sing the Praise of Heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy Smith, son in law, Gary Renfrow; grandparents; brother in law, Coy Wayne Smith and numerous other family members. Survivors include her husband Everett Smith of the home; one daughter, Rebekah Gaile Renfrow of Okemah, sister in law, Lana Elliot and husband Chad of Yukon and sisters in law, Nyoka Stover and husband John and Judy Smith of Yukon. Jerry Burney, Chad Elliot, Justin Neatherlin, Toney Smith, Ronnie Fields and Lonnie Cheatwood. Honorary bearers include Frank Chappe, Leo Lasiter and Bill Harris. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. Bob Ely, Bishop Randal Drake and Rev. Bill Harris.
