Roseline Deere

January 30, 1932 - May 15, 2020

Funeral services for Roseline Deere will be held Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church of Okemah. Interment will follow at the Nuyaka Church Cemetery. Wake services will be Wednesday, 7:00 PM also at the Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church. Roseline Deere was born January 30, 1932 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Nathan McGertt and Ester (White) McGertt. She passed away, Friday, May 15, 2020 at her home in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 88. Mrs. Deere attended Sequoyah High School as a child and later was a resident of Okemah and currently residing in Muskogee. She worked many jobs throughout her life including working at an Army Ammunition Plant in Arizona. She also worked as a nurse’s aide, security officer and most recently as a janitor. She enjoyed reading and working word puzzles. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eunis Deere (1985); three children, Cynthia Ann, Jimmy Ray and Edward Dean; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Enid Deere-Baugess of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one brother, Jimmy McGertt of Okemah; sister, Inda McGertt of Okmulgee and two grandchildren, Eric and Marc Baugess. Serving as active pallbearers will be Samuel Deere, Billy Baugess, Ronald Wayne McGertt, James Spain, Cody McGertt, Michael Harjochee and Nathan Dale McGertt. Honorary bearers include Eric and Marc Baugess, Josh Pickett and Gary Pickett. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Rev. Jimmy Hicks. Online condolences may be made at www.ParksBrothersFuneralHome.com. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
