William Paul Heard

Funeral services for William Paul Heard will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Burnett Mission Church near Paden, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Paden, Oklahoma. William Paul Heard was born January 31, 1933 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma to Willis Paul Heard and Osa Clara (Davis) Heard. He passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at his home near Paden at the age of 85. Mr. Heard was a resident of Okfuskee County all of his life. He and Dorothy Mayfield were married January 19, 1952 in Paden. Mr. Heard was a longtime minister and pastor of the Burnett Mission Church. He enjoyed carpentry work and visiting with people; he truly “never met a stranger”. Most of all, he loved his ministry and helping others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Osa Heard; one sister, Fern Crosby and two sons in law, Bill Banks and Bobby Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Paden; one son, Jerry Heard of Paden; four daughters, Paula Litle and husband John of Paden; Sharon Banks of Kellyville, Oklahoma, Phyllis Morris and husband Floyd of Kellyville, Oklahoma and Gayla Taylor of Paden, Oklahoma; one brother, Clarence Heard and wife Seleta of Paden; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers will be Bryan Logan, Aaron Brock, Nathan Wood, Douglas Meadow, Jonathan Brock and Donnie Williamson. Honorary bearers include Ralph Collins, Dean Collins, David Brown, Ronnie Kellogg, Chris Cheatwood and Curtis Watts. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Bro. Terry Garner, Bro Larry Wood and Bro. Terry Pittman.
