Funeral services for Wilson Hicks will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church of Okemah. Interment will follow at the Hick Homeplace. Wake services will be Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00 PM also at the Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church. Wilson Hicks was born November 2, 1930 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma to Chebon Ofvnnoke Hicks and Sarah (Coker) Hicks. He passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at his home in Okemah at the age of 91. Mr. Hicks was a lifelong resident of the Okemah area. He worked as a tree trimmer and heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a deacon at the Nuyaka Indian Baptist Church before becoming pastor. Mr. Hicks enjoyed playing horseshoes, baseball, softball, watch wrestling and fishing. He also enjoyed reading his bible and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Ina (Roberts) Hicks; one son, Nelson Hicks; two brothers, Banson and Jessie and two sisters, Maggie Hill and Louise Burgess. Survivors include his three daughters, Lucinda Factor and husband Noah of Okemah, Sarah Hicks and husband Sam Beaver of Okemah and Addie Hicks of Okemah; one brother, Hanson Hicks and wife Alice of Okemah; one sister, JoAnn Powell of Bristow; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Beaver, Noah Beaver, Commanche Beaver, Josiah Factor, Isaak Factor and Kolby Factor. Honorary bearers include Daniel Factor, Tim Carreno, Eric Carreno and Noah Factor. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Rev. Jesse Wind.
